When you solve an equation you first break it down into parts in order to solve it. What must our brains break our vision down into in order to process it? Our brains love to take shortcuts when constructing a visual model of the world with the pieces they have broken it down into. In this piece I expose some of the shortcuts our brains take to give meaning to the stimuli we see.
