REFLECTIONS AND TRANSCENDENCE
Maggie Chen

Depth and motion perception arise from the intersection between visual cues including relative size, texture gradients, occlusion, and linear perspective. Interposing these cues upon a 2D surface casts the sensation existing in a 3D world. Edges solidify and dissolve, some rings converge and diverge before others, giving the impression that motion into an imagined space is occurring. Harnessing and juxtaposing the present world with a constructed one enables for the transposal of realms, raising one’s awareness of visual perception.
